Spiritual reading for 10-12 year olds

I have gone through the excellent Credo book with my boys as part of their ongoing catechesis at home.

Does anyone have any suggestions for spiritual works suitable for 10-12 year old boys that we could make use of in our home catechesis?

My eldest has really enjoyed the biographies of saints from Ignatius Press -- I think they were originally published as the "Vision" books series. They're engaging and well-written -- I read a couple over the summer and was really impressed. They're rather old-fashioned in a good way (to my mind at least) but are also rolicking "adventure" stories and hold the children's interest easily. As you're in Canada at the moment your boys might like one about Blessed Kateri Tekawitha (Amazon.Ca link http://tinyurl.com/5tenbva).

I lived in Canada for 12 years and left twenty years ago as did my husband; we're constantly asked why we're here (London) rather than there. I'm not sure what the answer is, but our gut feeling is that the UK is still, despite all, a better place to bring up young Catholics. I'm really interested to know what your feelings are about this, now that you've been there for a few months.

God bless,
