Offski

Should I find a locum to do my job for the year, we are away to Vancouver for 12 months, Deo volente.

4 weeks next Monday. *gulp*.

Any info on life & Catholicism in Vancouver/BC/Canada greatly appreciated. We'll probably be living in North Vancouver.

Deo gratias for the opportunity the Lord has given us.

Please pray for us.

I think Hilary (Orwell's Picnic) lived in Vancouver for a number of years.

Lucky, lucky, you!

Lots of prayers for the non-holidayish bits.

Good luck!

I've never been to North Vancouver, and so I don't really know how difficult it is to get across the water, and Canadian distances are so much longer than I (and perhaps you) are used to, but the FSSP has a parish in the city: http://holyfamilyvancouver.ca/

Thanks, Simon, I saw that. They have another across the city that they serve.

There's a good NO parish that has a schola where the parish priest has instituted the Benedcitine reforms in full. The sung NO masses are with plainchant and there is an EF Mass @ 7.45 on Sunday.

Anagnostis, I think Hilary has other things on her mind at the moment.

Paulinus,

It goes without saying, but haste ye back, and all that.

This time next year, we might just have that drink in 'The Three Craws' I've always meant to offer you.

That's a very kind offer Martin. That's an awful long way from Rutherglen.

I've always liked Tennants or the Horseshoe. Then there's the new German place on Glasgow Green.

I think you need copious supplies of blubber, a pack of huskies and clothing comprising shaggy animal skins.
Sorted.

Why are you off to Vancouver? Are you doing a fellowship?

More a sabbatical/secondment. V exciting.

You can't get far enough away from Rutherglen, in the opinion of one who was born there.

What's Hilary got on her mind? I rarely look at her blog. Have I missed something significant?

Aaaaahhh. Okay. Not good.

Paulinus,

Have bus pass, will travel. And it's not so far away, as the old homimg beacon flies.

Do I detect that some of the more recent commentors are trying to lower the tone?

Maybe a fur hat and a big, thick checked shirt, too. I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.....

Come one, come all to this place...

My apologies, Paulinus. Such are the dangers of commenting while lubricated.
