It's that time of year

One's a dumb animal waving a stick, and the other one...oh, you know the rest. Tip of the garishly-coloured Balmoral cap to The Teuchter

I got caught in the Greenock March at the weekend too, as well as the one in Perth the weekend before.

The Perth one was well....interesting. We were stuck in street and couldn't avoid it, get past it.

In between having a few giggles at what was going on, i was struck by the fact that the lodge members themselves were far out numbered by the band members.

Now, i could be wrong, but, aren't the bands separate from the Lodges - in and of themselves?

It certianly looked to me as if the Culture was just about the music and the regalia (oooh....idolitry, anyone?) and not so much as the involvement in the Reformed Christian (sic) aspect of it all.

FWIW, the media always seems to report the number of participants broken down into:

(1)those in the march,
(2)those on the pavements
(3)those in custody

I dare say many of us would find out for certain what we'd always guessed should the press ever give us a percentage breakdown of participants in the walk who were actually card carrying ludge members.

A religious procession - my bahookie.
