Home thoughts #5

Of interest, the bridge he walks across is, I think, the South Portland Suspension Bridge across the Clyde, rather than anything in Moscow.

Well, if you were looking for film a scene like that, of a communist-dominated city which 1960s public-sector architects had done their worst to ruin, AND with a miserable climate AND in which many of the natives make no secret of their contempt and hatred of the English, AND in which the protagonist feels alienated from those around him because of his sense that God is an Englishman....well, Moscow would surely be second-best to Glasgow, no? (I suppose the clockwork orange would be a bit of a disapppointment compared with the Moscow Metro, but above ground...I'd say it works...)
