Pope's XV: Kit Bag

Well, which is it to be? Now we have a Pope's XV (possibly a 2nd XV and a Colts team) we'll need a shirt. Tell me your preferred jersey.

Sponsors? Gamarelli's? Hayes & Finch? The Tablet?

The third design, plain yellow and white half-and-half, matches the Papal flag and should be preferred at least for the 1st XV.

The quartered design could perhaps be used by the 2nd XV or the Colts.

The horizontal stripes design is not nice at all.

Funny; I like the stripey (2nd) one because it reminds me of rugby!

Mmm, yes, striped rugby shirts were the usual cross-country wear in my Pony Club days. But I would go for the half-and-half one as well.

I am not playing if I'm sponsored by the Tablet.
If Gammarelli's do the sponsoring you will have to wait forever, and the shirts will be tight under the arms, and the buttons will come off.

I have seen rugby-style shirts in the US with Benedict across the shoulders and the number 16 on the back. No idea who offers them or cost. Woudldn't mind receiving one for Christmas.

As a Harlequins fan, I ought to go for the quarters but I have to admit the half and half is good.

BTW: Thank you for your thoughts after Quins' last game. I will be at the Bristol away game on Sunday and if we play like we did last weekend it will be the Trip from hell!

I could have a go at designing something via CWA :)

Good to see you awake again!

As Vernon said, half and half matches the papal flag. It will be a good thing if the opposition sees 15 Papal flags ranged against them.

Team prayer: "Our Lady of Victories pray for us. Our Lady of Defeats pray for them."

Sponsors: Jamesons? Chateauneuf-du-Pape? The Cardinal? (The pub, not MO'C.)

We don't need Cheerleaders: let's have Prayerleaders: some small Indian Missionaries of Charity.

I agree with Vernon's choice of shirt and maybe sponsorship could be provided by Buckfast Tonic Wine or Prinknash Cider.Golden.I think the scrum caps should have the Papal coat of arms imprinted across the front.
Any thoughts as to who will act as match officials?
As for cheerleaders why not ask the Dames of Tyburn to help out.

Oh yes, this is very, very late, but nice to see this blog active again! When Berenike linked to the Pope's XV thing, I think assumed it was on RCC. D'oh. Happy New Year!
